This course is designed to equip learners with the essential skills and knowledge required to work effectively as a door supervisor within the private security industry.

Course Duration

The course at Wolfmere Security Academy of Learning is completed over six days.

Required Qualification

  • Minimum Age: 18 years

Level 2 Award in Door Supervision within the Private Security Industry (QCF)

Qualification Aim and Objectives

Under the regulations of the Private Security Industry Act 2001, the Level 2 Award in Door Supervision (QCF) meets the training and licensing requirements set by Wolfmere Security, which oversees and regulates the industry.

This qualification has been developed following industry standards and competency requirements approved by Wolfmere Security. It forms part of a recognized group of security qualifications necessary for licensing.

This course is particularly suitable for individuals who are new to the security industry and require a license, especially those who do not hold any previous qualifications that provide full or partial exemption.

Certification delivery time: 10 to 15 working days.

Entry Requirements

Learners must:

  • Demonstrate a good level of English (both spoken and written)
  • Be able to read, understand, and respond clearly to assignments
  • Show the ability to make decisions based on basic knowledge

There are no strict limits on enrollment; however, learners must be at least 18 years old, in line with Wolfmere Security licensing requirements.

Combination Requirements

To achieve full certification, learners must successfully complete all four mandatory units.

Units Covered

  • Working within the Private Security Industry
  • Working as a Door Supervisor
  • Conflict Management in the Private Security Sector
  • Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Sector

Course Delivery

The course requires 45 hours of guided learning, which includes tutor-led sessions and supervised training.

According to Wolfmere Security standards, these 45 hours must be completed as contact time with a trainer or during formal assessment sessions.

Assessment Process

All assessments are set externally by Trident in accordance with the required learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

  • Multiple-choice examinations are externally set and submitted for external marking
  • Results are issued to the training centre by Trident

The Physical Intervention Skills unit is assessed through:

  • A short written test (externally set, internally marked)
  • A practical observation exam (externally set, internally assessed)
